Corporate Worker

Many people i know think that word "corporation" is synonym of "evil". Everyday i hear about exploited corporate workers from people that weren't working in such company.

After working for two years I agree that enterprise jobs are in most cases less innovative that those at small companies, but it also depends on personal attitude because bigger company give u some degree of freedom in choosing project and position. The process and formality is painful and sometimes unnecessary, but when you start to appreciate it when you have comparison to working without it.

I've never seen myself as corporate worker but in fact it turned out to be good for me. Environment with reduced amount of activities that are not related to my specialty is serving me well - I always get easily distracted and usually were very unproductive. Now I don't have to care about broken PC, kitchen supplies and late paycheck - those things are just organized. As software developer I'm also isolated from client complaining - contact person is manager and only him - this gets away burden of requirements changing daily. Of course there are some cons - corporate 'inertia' and centralized services providers makes easy things look complicated and take time.

In conclusion - if you are willing to sacrifice innovation for peace of mind and comfortable environment you should try it.

I would be happy if you share your thoughts.
